The first draft of Corzine’s Energy Master Plan was unveiled last week, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and provide energy savings to New Jersey residents. After a 60-day period in which it can be critiqued at public hearing, a final draft will be completed and submitted to Corzine.
These long-term goals, which run through 2020, aim to:
- Conserve energy and promote energy efficiency
- Heighten electricity demand
- Promote electricity needs from renewable sources
- Close the gap between the supply and demand of electricity
- Invest in innovative clean energy technologies and businesses
